Pastor Christy was born and raised in Pueblo, CO. A lifelong Lutheran, she decided to follow her call to ordination in 10th grade. She attended St. Olaf College and Luther Seminary before moving up to Thief River Falls.
She has served as an interim and pulpit supply preacher in the NW MN Synod since her graduation. She accepted her first call to New Beginnings Parish in February of 2019, getting ordained in her home congregation that same month. She currently resides in Thief River Falls with her husband and their small but mighty dog, Compton.
She enjoys traveling around the synod connecting with the church at large and exploring all that NW MN has to offer. She won't ever pass up the chance to eat at Chipotle and appreciates that people still respect her as a pastor despite the fact that she doesn't like coffee.

Below/left is a picture from the ordination of Pastor Christy Klemz at her home church in Pueblo, Colorado on February 2, 2019. At the right (to her left) is our then bishop, Larry Wohrabbe of the NWMN Synod. Below/right are a few pictures from Pastor Christy's installation in our parish on March 31, 2019 by Synod minister, Rev. Laurie Natwick assisted by Pastor Gary Halverson. In a combined service held at Zion, the three congregation presidents charged Pastor Christy with her duties. The whole assembled parish blessed her with the laying on of hands.
