Our national church organization is the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, headquartered in Chicago IL. The magazine of the ELCA is Living Lutheran which previously was called "The Lutheran" and before that "The Lutheran Standard."
The regional expression of the ELCA is the Northwestern Minnesota Synod with offices in Moorhead MN. We are also assigned to the Crookston Conference of the synod.
The ELCA is a member of the Lutheran World Federation which is an international community of Lutheran churches. Our congregations contribute to the annual collection of quilts, health kits, school kits, and baby care kits of its international social service agency, Lutheran World Relief.
The Lutheran college on the territory of our synod is Concordia College in Moorhead MN. The Lutheran seminary in our state is Luther Seminary in St. Paul MN.
We are member congregations of Pathways Bible Camp and participate in their summer camps, retreats, and Vacation Bible School hosted by the parish.
We support the statewide work of Lutheran Social Service of Minnesota through which we help those in need throughout Minnesota.
Zion Lutheran Church (only) is a founding congregation and corporate member of Valley Senior Living of Grand Forks ND.
We participate in the fall collection for the Greater Grand Forks United Way and a March Minnesota Foodshare collection for the Marshall County Foodshelf, as well as other Christian and charitable organizations.
Zion Lutheran Church is one of the financial sponsors for Rev. Chandran Paul Martin, ELCA Consulting Regional Representative for South/South Asia in Korattur, Chennal, India.
